Booking
Information
How
to book?
First
of all you can check availability and price by
clicking here. It is not a book obligation.
How
much is the reservation deposit?
If the apartment you would like to rent is available,
to book it, 50 per cent of the rental is required.
The
owing balance is paid when you (the Renter/Tenant) get the key and move
in.
How
to pay the reservation deposit?
We
rent our apartments directly, between us (owner) and renter. There is no
broker/company between us. To pay the deposit you can opt for:

You
can pay the deposit through bank transfer (wire). It can be done via bank account to bank account.
You can also pay the deposit via Pay Pal and MoneyGram. We have a
verified Paypal account. PayPal is a safe and easy way to pay
and get paid online. If you chose paypal you can pay in many ways, including credit
card. You
can check it out by clicking here.
If
you are in Rio, you can come to my office and deal with us in person.
If you are
not in Rio, but you have some friend or relative in Rio, you can ask them to
carry out the transaction in person. It's entirely your decision.

Where
to meet to get the key and move in
If
you reserve some apartment, usually we make an appointment beforehand to
meet you up when you arrive and deliver the key, at the apartment
address that you has reserved or at our office. It is entirely your
decision.
If
you arrive out of normal office hours or on Saturday or on Sunday, we
can make special arrangements to meet.
Is
it possible to make a reservation without putting the reservation deposit?
Provided that there is availability, we may book/reserve an
apartment without reservation deposit if you contact us too close to your arrival in
Rio.
If you do not want to book in advance, when you are in Rio you can
contact us. Provided that there is availability you can see some apartment that is available. If you like it, you can rent it.

Can I see the apartment before I make a reservation?
If you are going to
be in Rio or If you are already in Rio, come by our office or give us a call to make an arrangement. Providing
that the apartment you are interested in is available at the moment, we can personally show you the apartment.
If you are not in Rio, you can see pics and take details about the apartment you are interested in at this website. So that you can get a first hand look at it before you book it.
Can I ask somebody to see the apartment?
If you are not in Rio, and you have some relative or friend in Rio, ask him to phone me to arrange a time to show him the apartment.
The apartment to be shown has to be vacant. If not, we will arrange a time when it is available to be visited.

The apartments are
located in Copacabana, in nice areas to stay or to live in
Rio.
Food
There are
bars and restaurants, snack-bars, fast-food, groceries, supermarkets nearby and large supermarkets within walking
distance. Restaurants "by kilo" offers cheap and fine
meal.
If you want to
store and prepare your meals, the apartments has kitchen
(refrigerator and cooker/stove).
Communications
& Internet
There are lots of internet-cafe (internet access) nearby. The
prices vary between US$ 1 and US$ 3 an hour.
Beach,
Sightseeing, Shopping and Nightlife
The apartments are well located, close to the beach, shopping and nightlife.
Information

There are lots of Travel Agencies nearby that offer
sightseeing and guided tours.

Means
of Transport
There are lots of means of transportation available
nearby such us taxi, bus, metro (tube/subway).
All the apartments are close to Metro Station. One of them is an
building that is right in front of one Metro Station.
You can take a taxy easily all day and all night long.
Laundries (with Ironing service)
There are laundries close at hand that offer good service and cheap
price.
Some laundries offer free collection and delivery.
Do
you offer serviced apartment? Is there maid service ?
Due to all those facilities available nearby, We only rent
self-contained / furnished apartments and do not offer services. Our
apartments are suitable for the ones who want only self-contained or
self-catering apartment.
Only If requested, we can arrange for cleaning service and to change the
bed linens on a weekly or daily basis, but It would have an extra cost.
Anyway, it is inexpensive.
Bedlinens
and towels
Besides furniture, the apartments are supplied with some towels and
bedlinens.

Cell
Phone (Mobile Phone) and Internet
Does
my cell phone works in Rio?
If you have a cell phone based on the global gsm technology (most of
cell phones throughout the world, nowadays bear this technology), you
can talk and speak in Rio as if you were in your home town.
In other words, most of cell phones from Europe and other countries
works here.
How can I get a
local phone? Is it easy?
It is cheap and easy to buy a pre-paid local
cell phone, and you can use it right away. As an option, if you you want
to use the same cell phone you already have, you can buy only a GSM
chip. You can buy either the GSM chip or the cell phone at the Airport
or at some cell-phone store in Copacabana. There are 4 companies in Rio
that offer pre-paid service.
Internet
Is there lots of
lan-houses available nearby?
In Copacabana you have close at hand lan-houses that offer high-speed internet
connection at a very cheap price. The
prices range between US$ 1 and US$ 3 an hour.
Anyway, if you do not spent one hour at internet, but just some minutes,
the price is will be still cheaper.
What about 3G, WiFi and
hotspots?
In Rio there are companies that offer wire-less 3G Internet connection.
But it is necessary to go the Cell-phone company to enable the service,
and it is paid.
As to the hotspots (wi-fi), in Rio there are hotspots in the airports and
some shopping centers.

Airport Transport / How to get to
Copacabana / Directions
It is easy and inexpensive to reach Copabacabana
District when coming from the International Airport. If you take a taxi,
you will take about 30 minutes and it wil cost roughly US $ 27.
If you take an special bus line It will cost roughly US $ 3.
It is not necessary to arrange for special transport service unless you
are Michael Jackson or Madonna or if you want to spend extra money.
By
Taxi
If you take a taxi you will take 25 or 30 minutes from the international airport to Copacabana.
When you arrive at Rio's International Airport, you will be frequently asked if I you would like to take a taxi.
A standard yellow taxi fare to Copacabana is around US $ 27. You can also buy a ticket for a special taxi (at the desk of a taxi
company in the airport) before you go out the airport. This way you can know the exact price to pay for the taxi.
A special taxi fare is a bit higher. Usually both special and standard
taxi are air-conditioned. They differ in that the special taxi driver wears
uniform and the special taxis only take pre-arranged tasks, usually arranged by
phone or at the desk of the company (they do not stop in the streets if you wave
to them).
By
Bus
If you want to save money and you are not in a rush, you can take a bus. Right in the exit of the airport, when you get
out with your luggage, there is a bus company called REAL and it takes you to the touristic areas such as Copacabana, Flamengo, Botafogo,
Ipanema and Leblon. The bus is very comfortable and can handle large luggage
indeed. The
ticket is quite low, it is about 6 Reais, less than 3 US$ (American Dollars).
When the bus gets to Copacabana you can ask to the driver to stop to get off at the nearest street corner of the apartment
address you have booked. The driver lets you jump off where you want. It takes about
50 minutes to get to Copacabana. The bus drives off every 40 minutes or
so, between early daytime till late evening.

Where
to meet to get the key
To
avoid carrying luggage to and fro, If you prefer, you can go directly to
the apartment address you has reserved as long as you phone me when you
leave the airport in Rio. In the mean time I will go to the apartment
address to give you the key.
Can
I go straight to the apartment address?
If you reserve some apartment, usually we make an appointment beforehand
to meet you up when you arrive and deliver the key, at the apartment
address that you has reserved or at the office. It is your
decision.
Can
we make special arrangements If
I arrive out of normal office hours?
If you arrive out of normal office
hours or on Saturday or on Sunday, we can make special arrangements to meet.
